how about displaying stuff on the rgb:
like alerts of a certain severity from vmalert
specific keys could light up or blink to mean specific events, like q-w-e-r-t-y for wifi light bulbs not responding, etc
And, the top-right wheel should be sending scroll events
and the media keys could be blender mode switchers
ckb-next is the ubuntu tool for controlling it. not sure yet what needs to be written to control it from other tools
